## Skip Counting

Skip counting is among the effective multiplication games to get your students ready prepared for multiplication. Start by counting backward from two. Then move up to tens, fives, and so on. It is easier for kids to recognize patterns in multiplication when they have learned skip counting.

“Boom” is an excellent game for introducing skip counting patterns. Make your students stand in a circle and choose a starting number and an ending number. Count by threes until you reach 60. The longer the game takes, the higher the number you choose to end on.

Then go around the circle, each student saying a number in the skip counting pattern. When you arrive at the last number, the student yells “Boom,” and the next student sits down instead of saying the number. You keep going until just one student is left. If a student commits a mistake, they sit down, and the next student takes their place. It encourages children to concentrate.

These Effective And Fun Multiplication Activities take very little time and provide students with plenty of opportunities to master entertainingly skip counting patterns.

## Effective And Fun Multiplication Activities Manipulatives

You can demonstrate many multiplication concepts with manipulatives, including arrays, equal groups, and repeated addition. You can use manipulatives as a part of multiplications games to demonstrate multiplication strategies before allowing students to practice in small groups. This will enable you to observe them if they are correctly manipulating the manipulatives.

Manipulatives might be used in the centers as well. It’s easier to understand concepts when concrete objects represent them. Counters, counting bears, tiny erasers, and classroom items such as pens and paperclips can all be used. To make manipulatives even more entertaining, bring in some holiday-themed things.

Task cards are pretty effective if used in a classroom. Task cards are an excellent method to gain additional practice or review. Task cards make it simple to concentrate on a single issue at a time. Kids find the assignment more doable because they aren’t confronted with a complete page of problems.

Task cards are ideal for use in student centers or your quick finisher file. You would enjoy using them for evaluation purposes. Just distribute the cards throughout the room and instruct the children to complete each issue by scooting around the room. They enjoy getting up and moving around, and they learn more when they are doing so.
